I was born and raised in San Francisco, the third generation of native San Franciscans. I have a younger sister (Rose) and a younger brother (Emmett) and we were all adopted before we were born by my parents. My sister and I are biological sisters. I had a happy childhood, but was not a happy child. Cried for unknown reasons often. I then proceeded to find an eating disorder at the age of twelve, and off to the races I went. Addicted to drugs and by thirteen, alcohol by fourteen, and for the next six years continued down a spiral of destruction. Sent to Minnesota to enter rehab at nineteen. Too sick after twenty-eight days of that, so I was sent for more treatment in Florida. Found myself, my sanity, AA, and a God. Better now, but not cured. In general I am happy. I have a good job, a car, a cell phone, a life, a house, real friends. I am incredibly grateful for the experiences that I have had and the opportunity to become the person that I am.
